The equipment is used to detect broken bones, fractures and diseases. This allows doctors to diagnose their patients and further recommend treatment to the patients. X ray technicians also schedule patient visits to the X ray center. Additionally technicians can be expected to keep a log, or record, of the different patients who have visited and undergone the process of an X ray and keep them on file for easy reference. The need for advanced devices and equipment such as computerized tomography (CT) and accurate patient diagnosis has increased the number of X ray technician jobs available. Hourly pay rates range from $15.00 to $23.00 USD per hour. Depending on one’s talent and accrued working experience, X ray technicians can see annual salaries of $50,000 to $70,000 USD.
